13 Feb The Year That Was
The year 2018 was evidently a year of glorious ups and downs. Let me first bring you to our 2018 Annual Kick Off at Pico De Loro where we officially and intentionally launch the next 12 months. You may scan all the photos while I reminisce the bonding moments during our 3-day activity. The first 2 days were actually spent inside a 4-walled, well-lit, air-conditioned room. Very important topics and issues were disclosed, discussed and decided upon. The essential ones which I vividly remember were the discussion of the mission, the vision and the core values of the company. It was also the time that we re-set strategic plans to improve and grow in order to deliver for the company’s future. There were games and exercises to encourage camaraderie and to foster strong relationships. And to effectively discuss our future’s growth, the team had a chance to rehash their past achievements which made us appreciate more all the efforts that we exerted during the last 12 months.
Came February, our company celebrated its 17th year anniversary. Service excellence employee recognition awards were given to 5 of our highly dedicated managers and supervisors. Department managers introduced and welcomed their newbies, a perfect time for words of inspiration and motivation that would guide the newcomers and persuade them to do what’s best for the organization. The 5 awardees were then given a minute or two to thank their bosses for recognizing and honoring their skills, our president in return thanked them for going above and beyond their duties and her expectations as well. It was definitely an afternoon of pride. Just being proud to be part of the company that has stood the test of time. The photos do not justify how we actually felt but I would still want you to check them and see for yourself.
It has been the company’s tradition to acknowledge the birthdays of every employee – all 110 of us. However, the decision not to celebrate it in the workplace is of course always respected. We love celebrating life! And milestones as well! And speaking of milestone, it was also last year when we officially launched SAP, made sure that our HRIS was up and running, supported and joined a fund raising event as part of our Corporate Social responsibility. This event was hosted by Apat Biyaya Foundation Inc, our Company’s Foundation, the fun run was their first major event since their inception in 2016.
Last year, ADi participated and sponsored a number of exhibitions and conferences. It was one of our many ways to promote our company’s products and services and to boost brand awareness. Speaking to people or face to face contact during trade shows gives us a clearer idea of the kind of strategies we need to improve. I agree that not all events are created equal, each must be approached differently, what’s important is that objectives are met. We attended out of town marketing events, joined small and large scale exhibitions, supported some causes. Every event was a productive experience for our Sales people, there’s always something to learn about that would help them be better in their field. One can never stop evolving. And we are lucky our company supports our growth, personal and professional. Yes, it is one of our company’s mission to keep all employees engaged and motivated, from rank and file employees to the C-level executives. Our President will never encourage anything less than what her employees deserve. It’s a win-win situation, right!
To sum up 2018, here are some salient points. I know you will all agree with me that one cannot do his job correctly if we only forecast what’s ahead and not examining the past. Employees are an integral part for the company to succeed. Needless to say, each and every employee should do everything to make the business successful. Everyone plays a crucial part, every person matters! When one fails to do his part, the whole organization is affected. So, a piece of advice straight from our COO, “whenever in doubt, let’s revert back and revisit our core values”. Fair enough.
I am excited about my future with Annex Digital Inc and from the looks of it, everyone in the organization does feel the same way! There are just so many reasons to look forward to! Work challenges and struggles in the past have definitely made us stronger to face what’s in store for us this year. 2019, WE ARE SO READY FOR YOU !!!!
